Help Reduce Overdose Risks: Dispose of old medications this Saturday, 10-2 pm

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, April 27, and the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s Office of Drug Control Policy (ODCP) encourages Iowans to clean out their medicine cabinets and safely dispose of unused and unneeded medications. Local law enforcement agencies and pharmacies are teaming up to collect leftover prescription and over-the-counter drugs for this special one-day event held each spring and fall.

Primary Election What is the Primary Election? The Primary Election is held for the members of political parties to nominate candidates for the General Election. Party Affiliation The biggest difference between the Primary Election and all other elections is that a voter’s party affiliation matters. Only voters who are registered with the Democratic, Libertarian or Republican parties are allowed to vote in the Primary Election.

Karen's dedication and hard work have truly made a significant impact on our school community. One of her major achievements is working to secure the Community Eligibility Provision for our school district. This means that starting next school year, all students will receive free breakfast and lunch, ensuring that no child goes hungry while striving for their academic success.

Urbana Residents Rally Behind Police Chief

There is nothing like picking on a good man to bring out all the mama bears and the folks that he has helped. Several Urbana residents have been quick to have the Police Chief's back. The community of Urbana has banded together to show support for their Chief, and had a ton of good things to say about the man/As I read all of the words said about this police chief I noted one thing, there wasn't anything bad said about him.

This was founded to provide clear, concise, and consistent medical information for one’s healthcare decision-making. This is a day that exists for advancing our care plans and empowering the public and physicians to know the importance of the care plans.

Veteran's Affair under new leadership in Benton County

One of the state-mandated departments funded by Benton County is the Benton County Veterans Affairs Department. This office serves veterans of every age. It doesn't matter if you're young, middle-aged, retired, or years past retirement, you really should stop and talk with Courtney Long. You might recognize Courtney from seeing her in the Auditor's Office over the last four and a half years.

DO YOU WANNA ROCK?? ACT I TO HOLD AUDITIONS FOR ROCK OF AGES!

ACT I of Benton County is pleased to announce that we will be holding auditions for our upcoming musical production of Rock of Ages. Auditions will be held on Sunday April 14th at 2PM and 3PM, and Monday April 15th at 6PM and 7PM. Callbacks will be held on Tuesday April 16th at 6PM. All auditions will be held at the Palace Theatre at 210 W 4th St in Vinton.
