Business : Lutheran Home drive thru continues

You still have three opportunities to enjoy a unique cheeseburger on a pretzel bun, along with either a chocolate or vanilla shake. The Vinton Lutheran Home drive-thru has been in progress each Wednesday in June and July, and continues today (July 11) as well as July 18 and July 25. The event is a fund-raiser; this year's funds will help pay for new wheelchairs and an IV pump at the Lutheran Home communities. Employees take turns at the drive thru; some take orders when drivers (or an occasional pedestrian) stop at the main entrance. Others serve the burgers at the other end of the driveway. Residents also participate, sitting near the driveway to accept tips. The drive-thru runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Wednesday.
