The Palace reopened on April 30, 2021, after a 14-month pandemic closure. We survived that frightening year thanks to the generosity of our wonderful community partners. We were awarded several grants, both locally and nationally. Our loyal patron base donated to the cause throughout the summer and winter months, for popcorn, posters, or just because. We could not have done it without you!

Many of you have joined with our staff and volunteers in celebration as we screened movies throughout the summer. The smell of hot, buttered popcorn again fills the lobby, and we've added delicious soft pretzels, nachos, and hotdogs to the menu.

Our reopening has indeed been joyous!

WHAT'S UP NEXT FOR THE PALACE

Beginning, Friday, September 3, the Palace will go to a weekends-only schedule, including regular Friday and Saturday 2 pm matinees, and 7 pm showings on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Our first September film will be "PAW Patrol: The Movie," followed by "Free Guy," "The Suicide Squad," and "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings." Our September calendar will be posted soon at vintonpalace.org.

BIG NEWS in OCTOBER

Beginning October 1, the Palace will screen Clint Eastwood's "Cry Macho," followed by, on its national release date, Daniel Craig as 007 in "No Time to Die." Why is this big news? In the past, to secure a movie title on opening day, the Palace would have had to agree to take that movie for three weeks. That was just not financially feasible. With our new weekends-only schedule, our booker Frank has worked deals with several studios for us to show movies on their national release dates if we agree to show them for two weekends. This is great news for us and our patrons!

Other titles we plan to show on opening day yet this year: "Ghostbusters: Afterlife," "Top Gun: Maverick," and "Spiderman: No Way Home."

WHAT ABOUT WEEKNIGHTS

We are currently looking into other uses for the Palace during the week, including private parties, celebrations of life, live stage performances, comedians, and more. If you have a request, we'd love to hear it.

THANK YOU

As always, the best way to support the Palace Theatre is to come to see a movie! Playing on the big screen, in our last FULL week, Friday, August 27 through Thursday, September 2 at 7 pm, and Wednesday, September 1 at 2 pm is "Jungle Cruise," rated PG-13. Don't forget to take a selfie, post it, tag us, and let your friends see just how much fun you have at the movies!
