AMVETS to hold fundraiser at Dollar Fresh

The local AMVETS will hold the last fundraiser for the season this weekend. They AMVETS will be at Dollar Fresh Friday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The group will be serving brats, hot dogs hamburger saurkraut, soda and  chips for a free donation.Come on out and support the AMVETS

Vinton Public Library to offer introductory presentation on the use of "Libby"

The November Programming Calendar for the Vinton Public Library includes a special session  to help patrons use "Libby." It is an Informational Session that will be held on November 2 at Noon and on November 21 at 5:00 p.m.  Libby is one of our options for ebooks and audiobooks, available to patrons that live in the City limits of Vinton, or in Rural Benton County.

Salem Witch Trials Presentation Thursday, October 19, 6:00 p.m.

Kelly Steffen a teacher at the Vinton Shellsburg High School will be making a presentation at the Vinton Public Library. On Thursday, October 19. beginning at 6:00 p.m. Join us for a special 'VPL After Hours' event, as Kelly Steffen shares her personal research on the Salem Witch Trials. You won't want to miss it! To celebrate National Friends of the Library Week, our library's newly formed Friends chapter will be serving refreshments at this event.

Upcycle Gift Bags, Bows & Tags November 30th, 6:30pm

Upcycle Gift Bags, Bows & TagsNovember 30th, 6:30pm at Benton County Nature CenterReduce, reuse, recycle, gift! We will be making gift bags, creating unique bows and custom gift tags during this program. Bring in old calendars, wrapping paper and cards to give them new life! BCC will have some items to create a gift bag. Feel free to bring snacks and beverages.

Fall Festival at the Depot - October 14

Saturday, October 14 from 10:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. join the Benton County Historical Society at the Vinton Depot for some Fall Family Fun!Activities include:- 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Todd Frank and Amana Joe will be providing music- Beast and Bird will be there with their food truck for delicious food choices- 42° Degree North Winery will have wine tasting and wines available for sale- Phil Borleske the local train expert, will be there to share his train expertise and will be giving tours of the train station.

Vinton Volunteer Fire Department breakfast THIS Sunday

Join us this Sunday from 7:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.at the Fire Station for a breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, and biscuits n' gravy after celebrating Fire Prevention Week 2023!Tickets are $8/person available at the door; preschool and under are free. Proceeds will be added to our savings as we begin saving towards a new fire truck in the coming years.
