The year of the celebration has finally arrived! While the 150th celebration has been our radar for almost two years, the realization has hit once the calendar flipped to 2019! While small, subtle nods to the milestone will occur throughout 2019, mark your calendars for August 17-24, 2019! The Walldogs are scheduled to return to Vinton during this week to give our mural history a fresh coat of paint and add new murals as well. Other activities will include a parade, musical performances – both small and large, a tasty reminder of Sweet Corn Days and several other events you won’t want to miss. We know this epic celebration will take a small village to coordinate. We are looking for organized and energetic individuals to lead and serve on various subcommittees. Subcommittees will handle planning and execution of various events including the parade and sweet corn days. Meeting frequency and times will be determined by each subcommittee. If you are interested in helping out, give me a call (472-3955) and we can chat about what might be involved. Feel free to attend our next planning meeting on Wednesday, January 9 at 6:30pm also. Meetings are always held in the 2019 Headquarters space in the Governor Sherman building. Visit www.vinton150.org for news and updates related to the celebration! Thanks for the consideration
