In an age when we expect to see immediate results, and things happen instantly, we are sometimes fascinated when things take a while. Downtown Vinton is one of those things. In light of the complete devastation by the fire last year, we all gave a little sigh of relief to see the new Michael and Dowd building being built on its own site, and the progress being made on the rest of the block. Yesterday simple things like watching the sheetrock being hoisted to the second floor of the Benton County Title building gives the feeling of hope that things will return to normal. A building is obviously one of those things that take time. The construction, repair and time that is needed, seems like a long time, but in reality, it just takes time to do things right. For those not in the area, here are a few snapshots of the progress.
