During winter snowfalls, I know the question on everyone's mind is will there be school and when will they plow the streets. I live in the country so I have taken to staying in town when I know we're about to get hit especially if I need to cover something in town the next day! For the last few weeks, this winter seems like it has been a never-ending round of snowfall. I'm not sure if it's because my dad was a truck driver or what, but I've always been fascinated with the big machines. The maintainers, the snowblower, the dump trucks, and the tractors are all the things I could watch for hours while they do their job. I followed one set of trucks down the street as they scraped the snow to the center of the street, then a snowblower came along blowing it into the trucks. Each filled up and then today I watched as they continued to fill the lot between 3rd and 4th St. It looks like the lot is just about full, so we'll have to let someone in the snowmaking department know that we're out of room, done, can't anymore! I suppose they won't listen, Sometimes people at the top just don't. But to the guys responsible for taking such good care of all the streets and roads, thanks from a gal who is mesmerized by what you do! Good job!
