Coming up on February 22nd through February 26th, the Vinton - Shellsburg FFA Chapter will be participating in various FFA activities throughout the week. This week is known as FFA week across the country where every chapter will be participating in various activities.

The school dress up days are Monday: Hunting/Fishing, Tuesday: 'Merica, Wednesday: Blue and Gold/Official Dress, Thursday: Mullets and Flannels, and Friday: Career Day.

On Wednesday, participants competing in Leadership Development Events will go to Hawkeye Community College and go against other FFA chapter members in our sub-district to advance to districts in their specific contests.

On Thursday, the officer team will go down to the middle school to interact with the future FFA members and encourage them to look into FFA in the future.

On Friday, the chapter will hold a fundraiser to duct tape Mr. Kingsbury, the principal, to the wall. Students will purchase a certain amount of duct tape to be able to tape Mr. Kingsbury to the wall. The money will go towards the FFA chapter and sending members to the State Convention in April.

On Friday morning, FFA members are invited to breakfast at the Vinton Family Restaurant.

In order to involve the elementary schools, there is a coloring contest with the theme "Where Does My Food Come From" that will be judged and winners announced on Friday.

On Friday night, the chapter will hold another fundraiser in the form of a free-will donation grab-and-go spaghetti dinner. If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns about FFA week, feel free to contact the FFA Department through the school for more information.
