...I have had it with technology. You know the drill, technology is great when it works, but when it doesn't, well in my case, I simply can't work. I'd imagine that the rest of you are the same way. Doctor's offices can't check you in if the computer is down. You can't pump gas if the card reader isn't working. If you happen to be shopping and the cash registers go down, you're sunk. Today while trying to post a simple Santa story, I couldn't post it on Facebook because it violated their "Community Standards". I don't know maybe it was this picture causing the problem..Apparently it was too hot for the internet. Facebook was good to let me know that they were keeping Facebook "safe". "Facebook Blocks To help keep Facebook safe, we sometimes block certain content and actions. If you think we’ve made a mistake, please let us know. While we aren’t able to review individual reports, the feedback you provide will help us improve the ways we keep Facebook safe." So I don't know, maybe Mrs. Claus is running Facebook today. I think she was also managing our website, because it wouldn't work there either for a while. So after 3 attempts on each site, I THINK we can now see Santa getting a peck on the cheek...however, maybe my standards are much lower than Facebook's. I don't know about you, but Facebook might need to just laugh until your belly feels like it's full of jelly. Or, I don't know. maybe just chill. For the most part, people who use Facebook can handle something "offensive" and we can decide for ourselves what is and isn't "fake". For example, the idea that we can't think for ourselves to decide if an article that pops up on our Newsfeed is or isn't something we can believe, well give us a little credit. We aren't all brain dead...yet. Facebook "monitoring" what is good and bad, true or false, real or fake, isn't your job. If it breaks the law, then perhaps remove or block it. But seriously, ya'll need to relax just a teeny tiny bit, no, a ton! So Santa, I'm going to bat for you against the heartless technology gods out there. I hope this cancels out any of the bad this year and puts me solidly on the Nice List.
