ACT I of Benton County is thrilled to introduce its own theatrical version of the beloved NUTCRACKER classic.With an original script incorporating speaking as well as dancing roles, the production will be presented at the Palace Theatre Nov. 18-20 as part of Vinton’s annual holiday downtown celebration.Afternoon staging and dance rehearsals will take place at the Palace in June to set the production.

Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler are still traveling and making their wonderful music as The Rough & Tumble. (along with those big dogs, Puddle and Magpie Mae). Come hear what this dumpster-folk/thriftstore Americana duo has been up to! They will have Taylor James Donskey doing a few songs to open the show. Rachel Dedrick and John Berinobis will do a few numbers to open the second set.

Sunday afternoon found a packed crowd of more than 70 in the Farmers Mercantile Hall in downtown Garrison. Usually about once a month the hall holds a concert bringing together local talent and talent from afar. This week found the expertise of the Cedar River Whalers made up of Patty O'Connor, Phil Thomas and Steve Schott (and one member who had to miss the gig due to being quarantined in Ireland).

ACT I of Benton County is pleased to announce that we will be holding auditions for our upcoming musical production of Seussical the Musical. Auditions. The performance dates for Seussical the Musical are scheduled for August 4th and 5th at 7 PM, August 6th at 2 PM and 7 PM, and August 7th at 2 PM. will be held on Sunday, If you would like to audition for a part in the musical, audition dates are as follows: April 24th from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, and on Monday, April 25th from 6-8 PM, at the ACT I Centre located at the old West School.

Many of you in the area know immediately who I'm talking about when I say, "The Schmidt Brothers." The three brothers who perform regularly together will be holding a concert at the Vinton Palace Theatre on Friday, April 22nd at 7:30 p.m. The group only plans to perform in Vinton one time this year and it will be at this one-night-only event at the Palace.

The Cedar River Whalers band and Vinton musician Todd Frank will be in Garrison for a Sunday afternoon performance April 24th. Singer Rachel Dedrick and guitarist John Berinobis will combine their talents for a few tunes as well! Come join us for an afternoon of Americana, originals and country music!
