Christmas in July for the Lil' Racer Car Club Members this Sunday
Christmas in July is coming to the Bullring Lil Racer Car Club this Sunday night! The first 65 kids that come by the clubhouse and register will receive a Christmas stocking and another gift. Santa may make his appearance also! There will also be some ladies' gifts to randomly hand out so be sure to stop by on your way to the grandstands!
Motorcyle Racing in Vinton - 70 years ago
He was just 18 at the time, but the motorcycle enthusiast made plans to compete on the Benton County race track. The first motorcycle race on the track was held on Sunday afternoon, July 5, 1953, sponsored by the fair board as part of their 4th of July celebration. Bob Kimm had been riding motorcycles since he was old enough to get a license. A first-year novice racer, he took part in that event, sanctioned by the American Motorcyclist Association.
Wehrle wins Sprint Invaders stop at Benton County Speedway
Cody Wehrle was the top 360 Sprint during an appearance by the Sprint Invaders July 2 at Benton County Speedway. Wehrle raced from the second row and into the runner-up spot two laps into the 25-lapper and chased leader Bret Tripplett until caution slowed action on lap 11. Sprint Invaders return Sunday to Benton County Speedway
In what has become an annual Independence Day holiday tradition, the Sprint Invaders will make their way back to Benton County Speedway this weekend. The 360 Sprint series will make its return this Sunday, July 2 and join the IMCA weekly racing program at The Bullring. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Christie Door Company, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks presented by Vermedahl Trucking, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods presented by Houdek Auto Center and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts presented by iHeart Radio will complete Sunday’s program.
Party in Pink Race results
The annual Party in Pink event was held in Vinton on Friday evening. Dealing with smoke from the Canadian wildfires, most racers did not appear to be affected. The event held three different categories for the run. 5KIn the 5K race, the overall winner was Eli Page with a time of 17:57 followed by Emma Olsem at 25:32. All other race results can be seen HERE. Benton County Bullring Lil Racer Car Club's Annual Father's Day Giveaway!
When Lil Racers sign in this week, they will receive, in addition to their weekly prize ticket, a SPECIAL colored ticket that we ask that they drop into one of THREE different buckets after we ask them to choose WHICH item, they think their dad would want to WIN for Father's Day! We will draw one number from each bucket when we draw for our weekly prizes, AND, our Lil Racer of the Week, sponsored by the Pizza Place of Center Point.
