Fareway Stores, Inc. is proud to announce that customers across its seven-state footprint raised $158,414.88 during the company’s 10th annual Round Up at the Register campaign benefiting Variety - the Children’s Charity.

From June 29 through July 18, customers at all 143 Fareway Meat & Grocery locations were invited to round up their purchases at checkout to support children in need. Thanks to the generosity of Fareway customers, the campaign raised $148,214.88 through register round up donations. In addition, customers purchased World’s Finest Chocolate bars, generating another $10,200 for the cause.

Combined, the campaign raised a total of $158,414.88 to support Variety’s mission of improving the lives of children who are at risk, underprivileged, critically ill, or living with special needs.

“This milestone year is a testament to the incredible generosity of our customers and the commitment of our store teams,” Bret Wiltse, Executive Vice President of Merchandising at Fareway Stores, Inc said. “For ten years, our Round Up campaign has provided an easy way for customers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families throughout the communities we serve. We are grateful for every contribution.”

Wiltse also serves on the Variety executive board.

This year marked the 10th anniversary of Fareway’s Round Up at the Register campaign benefiting Variety - the Children’s Charity. Fareway’s relationship with the organization extends even further, having partnered with Variety since 1984 to support programs that help children gain mobility, confidence, and access to opportunities they might otherwise not have.

Variety - the Children’s Charity is dedicated to empowering children through programs that provide adaptive bicycles, inclusive playground equipment, communication devices, and other resources that help children participate more fully in everyday life.

“Variety’s impact is only possible because of caring partners and generous donors,” Variety CEO Wendy Ingham said. “We are deeply grateful to Fareway, its employees, and its customers for their continued support. These funds will help us bring life-changing opportunities to children and families throughout the region.”

The funds raised through the campaign will support Variety programs serving children and families across the communities Fareway proudly serves.
