Et cetera : Vinton Garden Club members gather for potluck at VGH

The Vinton Garden Club member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., District II, and Central Region met 11:00 am December 3, 2014 at Virginia Gay Hospital cafeteria for a potluck dinner by members. Had nice assortment of GOOD food!

President Fran Stueck called the meeting to order at 12:00 pm.

Members recited the Pledge of Allegiance and conservation pledge. Ten members answered roll call “your favorite family dish to make for Christmas”.

Secretary minutes and treasurer's reports were read and approved.

Committee reports– Photography and Publicity – news put in paper and on Vinton Today.

Garden Therapy – Sharen Stueck and Kelly Kaut have cups ready to make designs for Annex therapy,- Members are working to get new members.

Unfinished business– Fran asked if there were any more suggestions for programs and tours members would like to hear or see for 2015.

After meeting members judged Smokey Bear/ Woodsy Owl Posters followed by therapy with the Annex residents

Discussion on landscaping at the Horridge House was discussed. Members decided they had enough projects they do around town to keep them busy.

Members brought mittens, hats, sweatpants, sweatshirts, coats, and etc. for Tilford Elementary school children. Fran delivered them to Tilford Elementary after the meeting.

New business – The January 28th meeting will be at Dawn Kaut’s home at 1:00 pm. Blake Hesson will be giving presentation on forest and wildlife.
