I obviously had to pick up this mystery/thriller because the title shares my name! It also checked off our staff bingo challenge square for a "One Word Title."

'Heather' by Caitlin Mullen is a gripping mystery about Callie, a small-town police chief who reopens a decades-old cold case. As she digs deeper, the investigation begins to entangle her loved ones—and even raises questions about her own identity.

Mullen skillfully weaves together the stories of identical twin girls who vanished decades earlier, a deceased newborn discovered in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, and Callie's complicated relationship with her mother. What initially feels like several separate mysteries comes together in a surprising and satisfying conclusion, with the wild heather growing in the Pine Barrens serving as a haunting backdrop throughout.

Check it out today at the library, and happy reading, friends.
