In response to the increasing demand for skilled workers trained in automation technologies, Hawkeye Community College, in collaboration with FANUC America and Mission Learning Systems, will host an exciting event to address how automation is transforming the industrial workforce in Iowa.

This event will bring together leaders from education, industry and government to discuss the future of manufacturing and the vital role that educational institutions play in preparing students for high-demand, high-wage careers.

Taking place on November 7, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Van G. Miller Adult Learning Center, the event will center on the alignment between education and industry, with a focus on robotics and CNC technologies. Attendees will hear from industry experts, educators and public policymakers about the challenges facing the manufacturing sector and the opportunities in Iowa around automation education.

The day will feature a lineup of speakers, a panel of education and industry experts, networking and open discussion, and hands-on demonstrations.

All K-12 and post-secondary educators, employers, and business leaders interested in the future of the manufacturing workforce are invited to attend. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about funding opportunities and innovative educational programs that can support employers, students, and workers alike.

Although there is no cost to attend, registration is required. Lunch will be provided. To secure your spot, please visit www.hawkeyecollege.edu/fanuc-event to register. For more information, contact Cibelly Abrol at 248-276-4034 or via email at cibelly.abrol@fanucamerica.com.
