Adult Arrests

January 2-John E. Lawless 47 Vinton Charged with Public Intoxication - 3rd Offense (Aggravated Misdemeanor).

January 11-Timothy A. Nelson 25 Shellsburg Intrastate Warrant

January 16-Matthew D. Gonzalez 26 Unknown Charged with Trespass (Simple Misdemeanor).

January 16-Ryan R. Schlitter 30 Vinton Intrastate Warrant

January 16-Barry J. Wilson 37 Vinton Intrastate Warrant

January 16-Michael L. Lala 25 Vinton Charged with Trespass (Simple Misdemeanor).

January 16-Nikole M. Kruger-Bartosh 21 Garrison Charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor).

January 17-Jordan D. Turner 19 Vinton Charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor).

January 31-Kermit S. Delay 30 Vinton Charged with Forgery (Class "D" Felony) and Theft 4th Degree (Serious Misdemeanor).

Juvenile Referrals

January 5-Two 16 year old males and a 15 year old male were all referred to Juvenile Probation for Theft 5th Degree, Possession of Alcohol Under Legal Age, and Trespass (Simple Misdemeanors).

January 24-A 15 and a 16 year old male were referred to Juvenile Probation for Assault Causing Injury (Serious Misdemeanor).

A 17 year old male was referred to Juvenile Probation for Disorderly Conduct (Simple Misdemeanor).

Eighteen citations were issued in January. Two resulted from two state reportable traffic accidents, three for underage possession of alcohol, one for minor using tobacco - 1st offense, and the remainder for other traffic offenses.

Eleven written warnings were issued in January.

Fourteen parking/street storage/snow removal violations were issued in January.

For the month of January, 141 complaints/calls for service were handled by the Vinton Police Department.
