The Vinton community -- along with countless people across the country -- continues to rally around Emma Redlinger and her family, praying that she will recover from the brain injury caused by Tuesday's accidental shooting.

Donors contributed more than $10,000 in one day on a fund-raising page set up for the family. At First Christian Church, a two-hour prayer vigil will begin at 5 p.m. this Sunday. The church is located at 1209 West 13th Street, next to Theisen's, along Highway 218.

Vinton-Shellburg students continue to wear blue in honor of Emma; it's her favorite color.

"I'm astounded at the amazing generosity and outpouring of love," says Emma's mom, Aimee.

Emma continues in a coma, says Aimee.

"She is on a ventilator, but is initiating breaths on her own," said her mom. "She's a strong girl. I have faith in her and God."
