The unveiling of the 72-foot-long Cedar River lithograph will take place on Friday, June 17, at Celebration Park near the Highway 150 bridge, and residents are encouraged to bring their best frog or other river creature for a frog judging contest.
The display will feature historical landmarks along the Cedar River through Benton County, along with other information about the river.
The event takes place from 4:30 to 8 p.m. There will be a picnic (free-will donations will be accepted). The auction begins at 6 p.m. with the unveiling to follow. Auction items include Print No. 1 of the 50 that will be made to celebrate the project, along with river wildlife carvings and framed art work.
There will be live music, as well as a fishing pond for kids and the frog judging contest.
The project began more than a year ago when several volunteers rode in canoes or boats along the river, documenting historical sites. See a story about that ride HERE.
