News : Post-Prom Hawkeye home game ushering sign-up continues

"If we can get 20 volunteers per Iowa home game, we will meet all of our fund-raising goals for the year," says Mel Davis, the chairperson of the 2017 VS Post-Prom Committee.

For the second straight year, VS has the opportunity for volunteers to earn money for Post-Prom by volunteering to usher at Iowa games.

About football ushering

Those who volunteer for football games must complete a form and authorized Whelan to do a background check. During the game, the volunteers are required to wear white T-shirts, black pants (no jeans) and black shoes. Volunteers must arrive four hours before game time.

The committee has been recruiting volunteers, and will have sign-up sheets Friday at the football game. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

VS will have several slots to fill for the following seven Saturday games:

Sept. 3, 2:30 p.m.: Miami (Ohio)

Sept. 10, 6:30 p.m.: Iowa State

Sept. 17, 11 a.m. North Dakota State

Oct. 1, 11 a.m: Northwestern

Oct. 22, Time TBA: Wisconsin

Nov. 12, 7 p.m.: Michigan

Nov. 25, Time TBA: Nebraska
