At last week's Vinton City Council meeting, part of the session included hearing from the Vinton Public Library Director, Kelly Henkle. During her report to the council, she shared the many happenings at the library over the past year. The library has seen an increase in both the programs bringing in traffic as well as an overall use of the library resources.

Henkle shared a PowerPoint presentation showing several aspects concerning the library. Over the past five years, library interactions have continued to grow and to break records each year!

The chart shows the following data increases in the categories of Check outs, Renewals, Hoopla Circulation, Bridges Circulation and showing Total Circulation. In Henkle's first year as the director, the totals stood a little over 25,000. Today, the library is the place to be! Most interesting is the numbers in circulation alone has nearly doubled!

In total, the library has also increased in the number of visitors to the library itself, averaging just over 100 visitors per day!

Congratulations to Henkle and the outstanding staff at the Library. The success of our library is no doubt a result of its outstanding staff and leadership.

So "check out" the library if you haven't been, grab an armload of the resources within its four walls, or check into their website virtually....which can be found here!
