Opinion : Letter to the Editor: MAGA and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Dear Editor,

Following is an Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Statement about what MAGA means - it is not copyrighted so I assume it can be published without restriction. I have written before that he deserved to be heard. He should have been given the privilege of contenting in a Presidential primary; he deserved a hearing unrestricted by the hierarchy of the Democratic National Committee and the Democratic Party as a whole.

To all critics who tend to attack me personally rather than argue the issues I raise. I continue to wonder why you are so selectively against the First Amendment, we all have opinions and there should be no restriction on speaking or writing the same. This bias continues to the 2nd, 4th and 5th Amendments.

RFK Jr. Has been blocked from competing in this Presidential election by many State politicians, one wonders why they are so afraid of him speaking his piece. In particular how badly the COVID-19 Pandemic was handled by our Medical hierarchy as well as Blue State governments and some of the Red States as well. I believe the whole episode can be attributed to Dr. Fauci and the whole of the medical bureaucracy.

We were told to "follow the science," but where did the "science" come from and how accurate was it? Nevertheless, the people had to obey or there were restrictions or even jail time would follow. As to Rosemary's comment that I only care about money, hmmm! I know from personal experience what living on short finances means.

Life is much easier if you have enough for discretionary uses, such as charities or other needs. Acquiring wealth is the promise of a capitalist system which has made this country and our people the envy of the World. I am indeed fortunate that through 40 plus years of work I have the finances to fill all my needs and discretionary activities as well.

What we are faced with now is a democrat pair that would place more taxes on business, wealth creation, axes on unrealized gains, estates, and others that are of a Communist/Marxist economic theory.

Ask yourselves - where has this brand of Socialism helped the people gain wealth and prosperity? If you answered nowhere you are correct and will receive a gold star by your name.

What "MAGA" really means

The phrase has troubled liberals who think it is a call for a return to an America before civil rights, gay rights, and women's rights. But I have a more generous interpretation, one that is truer to my experience of Donald Trump as he is today. "Make America Great Again" recalls a nation brimming with vitality, with a can-do spirit, with hope and a belief in itself. It was an America that was beginning to confront its darker shadows, could acknowledge the injustice in its past and present, yet at the same time could celebrate its successes. It was a nation of broad prosperity, the world's most vibrant middle class, and a idealistic belief (though not consistently applied) in freedom, justice, and democracy. It was a nation that led the world in innovation, productivity, and technology. And it was the healthiest country in the world. I have talked to many Trump supporters. I have talked with his inner circle. I have talked to the man himself. This is the America they want to restore.

I do not agree with all of Robert's positions, but this one statement of what America was before the Communist/Marxist/Socialist take over of the Democratic Party gets all the support I can muster. The MSM and all the pundits have done all they can to characterize Donald as the worst villain possible, But I see through this propaganda screen and have no problem labeling most as manufactured falsehoods. I could perhaps be more specific, but I know what the critics seem to think is important, I view the things that affect my life are the most important; "the kitchen table issues".

Thus no matter the propaganda I will vote for Donald J. Trump -- America deserves to be great again.
