Brandon Fire & EMS Grilled Pork Loin Supper April 15
The Brandon Fire & EMS will hold a Grilled Pork Loin Supper. On Saturday, April 15, 2023 the department will serve from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Brandon Community Center.The cost is a free will donation.Funds raised will go to support the local emergency services.
Shellsburg Lions to hold Bingo, April 15
The Shellsburg Lions will hold Bingo at the Legion on April 15, from 6 - 8 pm. The Legion will provide food. The Blackout is guaranteed to be $50. Come have some fun, win a bingo, and celebrate other activities. For questions call 319-389-2682.
Benton County Conservation ECO-Extravaganza April 22
ECO- Extravaganza: Art in NatureApril 22nd, 12PM - 3PM at Benton County Nature CenterCelebrate Earth Day and World Art Day! Family fun with hands-on activities & games suitable for all ages. Volunteers will be selling baked goods with proceeds going to Benton County Conservation Foundation. At 1PM, there will be an Artistry with Aaron program painting Iowa wildflowers with a $10 suggested donation per painting.

Saturday, April 1, 2023 beginning at 1:00 pm at the Wildcat Golf Course Club House in Shellsburg.The purpose of the Mark Harrison Cancer Foundation is to provide financial assistance to cancer
patients and families in their daily struggles throughout the cancer journey. We are again
hosting the Pepper Tournament to continue providing financial support to those who need it.
This is a test story to see if the "File Not Found" issue is corrected
Every once in a while, there are computer issues that drive Wes and me batty. Well, I'm really not sure if drives HIM batty but it does me! For a few weeks, we were getting messages about a "File Not Found" error for some of the stories. The problem is that I needed to sit down and spend a few hours just comparing all the notes, the stories and other information to see if I could figure out where EXACTLY the problem was coming from.
CHURCH OF GRACE TENDERLOIN TUESDAY, MARCH 28
The Church of Grace is having a Tenderloin Tuesday (March 28) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The church will also be serving French Fries. The meal is Dine In or Drive Through. FREE WILL DONATION.

Vinton Fire Department Fish Fry Fundraiser tonight 4-7 p.m.
The Vinton Fire Department Fish Fry Fundraiser will be held tonight 4-7 p.m. at the fire station. A freewill donation will be accepted for this event. These events help to cover equipment and protective gear for our firemen. These expenses run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to keep our departments operating. Let the guys do the cooking after a long work-week.
