23 Iowa elected officials-former and current-and Democratic leaders endorse Sarah Corkery's campaign to defeat Ashley Hinson
"This is a flippable seat-but it's going to take all of us"
Today, Thursday March 28, 2024, 23 Iowa elected officials, organizations, and leaders endorsed Sarah Corkery's campaign for Iowa's Second Congressional District. Iowa's Second District is one of the country's premiere swing districts and one of the only swing districts in the Midwest.
"I am honored to have the endorsement of so many of Iowa's political leaders who are leading on making our state more affordable, protecting a woman's right to choose, and bringing critical investments and jobs back to Northeast Iowa," said Sarah Corkery, candidate for Congress in Iowa's Second District. "This is a flippable seat. This is a winnable race. It's going to take all of us coming together and standing up for our Iowa values this November, but with a team like this, I know we can do it."
"I am supporting Sarah Corkery because Iowa needs a change," said State Senator Molly Donahue. "Iowa needs representation that doesn't just listen to constituents, but actually hears them and who will act on those needs. Sarah is doing things differently, she's meeting people where they are, and she's not following the typical political playbook. Sarah knows we need someone who is different from all the rest-and who isn't afraid to do things a new way."
"Sarah is a refreshing new voice in politics. She grew up in the heart of the district, graduating from Hudson High School and Wartburg College," said former State Senator Rob Hogg. "She is running to get things done for Iowans who need help, like families facing health care conditions who need a strong health care safety net."
"Sarah inspires us all to never give up, to work together, to know that Iowa can and will be again, a great place to live, work and raise a family," added State Rep. Art Staed.
"As Chairwoman of the Black Hawk County Democrats, it is with great enthusiasm that I endorse Sarah Corkery for US Congress in Iowa's 2nd District," said Chairwoman of the Black Hawk County Democrats Vikki Brown. "Sarah Corkery embodies the values and principles that we hold dear as Democrats. Her dedication to serving her community, coupled with her unwavering commitment to fighting for the rights and well-being of all Iowans, makes her the ideal candidate to represent us in Congress. Sarah has a proven track record of advocating for progressive policies that uplift working families, protect our environment, expand access to healthcare and education, and stand up for reproductive rights and freedoms, including IVF treatments."
