Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI) opened a new office location at the beginning of the new year, resulting in 18 office locations offering mental health counseling services in the state.

Mackenzie Ford, an LSI therapist, is the first staff member to provide mental health counseling out of the new location and is actively accepting new clients in the area. "There is a lack of easily accessible mental health services in Benton County, and I am so thrilled to be able to fill that need by serving my home town and the surrounding area," said Ford.

In the Vinton office, LSI will provide in-person therapy sessions and early childhood services to the community, giving people the opportunity to stay close to home and not requiring them to travel 50 miles to the closest office. As always, LSI provides virtual therapy as an option across every office in the state, making mental health counseling more accessible to everyone.

"We are very excited for this opportunity to offer mental health services in the rural area of Vinton, Iowa," said James Guentherman, Director of Clinical Services at LSI. "We know how difficult it is to access quality care in rural areas and by partnering with the church in Vinton, we have been able to create and offer high-quality therapy services for that community."

LSI's new Vinton office will be located at 1206 C Ave., Vinton.
