We have received a very generous donation from Charlotte Heaverlo of Marshalltown, Iowa. She handmade three beautiful and professional quilted items for a silent auction to further benefit the Flaughless 5K.
These items will be on display at the Vinton Family Medical Clinic starting Thursday, September 24.
The silent auction will begin at the Vinton Family Medical Clinic prior to race day and relocate to the round shelter at Riverside Park on the morning of the race, Saturday, October 10, 2015.
The projects include a small flag, a flag-themed table runner and a quilt with stars.
The Flaughless 5K event honors VS graduate Dan Flaugh, who served in Iraq and took his own life in 2011.
Charlotte is the the mother of Candy DeGraff, and grandmother to Holly Otto and Brandon Otto (friends of Dan Flaugh from high school).
Bidding is separate for each item, and will end at 11:00 am on race day.
The highest bidder does not need to be present to win.
Provide your payment to Georgia Sysouchanh in the form of cash or check made out to Flaughless 5K.
All proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
Thank you, Charlotte, for your thoughtful donation. Happy bidding everyone!
