Weeks of preparation go into the annual five minute Easter Egg hunt each year. This year the Vinton Kiwanis Club provided a bit of fun for the area children on Saturday morning at the Kiwanis Park. Children of all ages arrived eagerly with baskets, buckets and bags. A few minutes before the hunt began, the children had a chance to visit with the Easter Bunny.

Vinton Kiwanis had 6,000 eggs filled and ready for the hundreds of children who arrived. Roughly five minutes after the hunt began, the hunt was over!

The rumor went around that when the Easter Bunny was around, Kellie Roberts, Vinton's Public Library Children's Librarian could not be found anywhere in town! We aren't sure just what happened, but I hear that she will be back at the library today!
