In 1976, the theme was red, white and blue all year long! The country was celebrating a monumental birthday, much like we are this year! Turning 200 as a country was a big deal,and the Washington Class of 1976 was part of that celebration!

In 1976

-Both Apple and Microsoft became companies

-A bicentennial quarter was issued that year to celebrate the country

-Sylvester Stallone began filming Rocky, which went on to win multiple Academy Awards

-Pepsi had a series of glass pop bottles that were patriotic, and some can still be found at garage sales to this day

-Jimmy Carter won the presidency

But most importantly. this group walked out the doors of the high school and helped to contribute to this community and build it into what we now all share.
