Cedar Rapids Gazette sports reporter Jeff Linder posted on Twitter this morning that "according to WaMaC Conference sources", the Grinnell Tigers will be joining the league as early as the fall of 2022.

The WaMac is currently a 13-team conference since the departure of Central DeWitt after the 2019-20 school year and both Dyersville Beckman and Maquoketa will leave at the end of the current school year, leaving the league with 11.

Grinnell is currently a member of the Little Hawkeye Conference, along with Oskaloosa, Pella, Pella Christian, Indianola, Norwalk, Dallas Center-Grimes and Newton.

Additionally, Linder Tweeted his (purely unofficial) thoughts on divisional realignment (see photos).

JM November 3, 2021, 1:27 pm I think a north/south alignment would be much better. North = V-S, CPU, Indee, Benton, WD, Marion The South = Williamsburg, Solon, South Tama, Grinnell, Mount Vernon, CCA. Basically HWY 30 south in one division and the rest north of HWY 30. If the goal is to reduce travel time for students and families I would prefer this alignment for V-S. Go Vikes!!
