Several planning sessions have been held recently in the Middle Cedar Watershed. The planning team completed several meetings across the watershed to solicit input from local residents. Meetings were held in the North Beaver Creek (held at the Ackley Public Library), Prairie Creek Headwaters/ Village of Van Horne (held at the
Van Horne Community Center), Black Hawk Creek- Reinbeck (held at the Reinbeck Memorial Building), and the Morgan Creek subwatersheds (held at the Cedar Hills Community Church in Cedar Rapids).

The Middle Cedar WMA Board members, residents and key stakeholders representing the agricultural community took part in a goal setting session aimed at defining the future of the watershed. The planning team is currently in the process of compiling all of the data analysis and local input to prioritize future actions and develop an action plan.

Several sampling sites throughout the watershed are still providing data to the watershed plan, so if you see Iowa Soybean Association technicians out in the creeks collecting water samples this summer wave hello!
