Mossman Law Firm is pleased to announce Amy Van Wechel has been named a partner. Amy has practiced with the firm for over five years and has a wealth of experience in her respective areas of practice including family law issues such as custody, adoptions and divorce. Amy is also a certified mediator.
Amy is a 2007 cum laude graduate of Mount Mercy College and received her Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School in 2011. Amy grew up in Vinton and is the daughter of Dennis and Diane Landrus. Amy married her high school sweetheart, Michael Van Wechel and the couple has four children, two of which were born while Amy was in law school. Amy likes to be challenged and completed her first half marathon this fall. She is already planning her next half marathon, and would like to complete a full marathon in the near future. Her greatest joy is being with her children.
Amy knew she wanted to practice in her hometown and help those in her community. She absolutely loves living in Vinton and is proud to raise her family here. Her general practice focus allows her to assist clients with a wide variety of needs. On any given day, she might help someone who received an OWI, prepare a will, help someone buy their first home or consult with a farmer for tax planning. She feels her career gives her an opportunity to be a positive influence for those who may be going through a difficult time, and she treats every client with dignity and respect.
In 2014, Amy had the honor of successfully arguing a case before the Iowa Supreme Court. She has also been successful in the Iowa Court of Appeals. Amy has been named as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer. “We are honored to welcome Amy to the partnership and know that she will carry on our tradition of excellent service to our clients and community,” says Mark Mossman
