About 60 people spent an evening with Theodore Roosevelt Oct. 18 at the Center Point Library getting a headful of history while laughing their heads off.

Darrel Draper of Omaha, who bills himself as an “edutainer,” educated and entertained the crowd re-enacting the Rough Rider, conservationist, author, adventurer, 26th President of the United States.

Special guest at the event was Darrel’s mother-in-law Jean Liabo Oxley. Jean grew up in Center Point and was a long-time Linn County Supervisor.

Friends of the Center Point Library and the Center Point Historical Society co-sponsored the evening, which included the annual Community Harvest Potluck supper.
