Cub Scouts “packed” the Center Point Depot Museum, along with a full house of adult guests, for the Center Point Historical Society’s 8th annual Cemetery Walk, Sunday August 26.

The weathered-in Walk featured the following CP historical figures and their portrayers: Rich Ring by John Stuelke, Vernon Heverly by Emmet Cummings, Dr. Francis Marion and Charlotte Gitchell Yost by Philip and DeEtta Andersen, George McNiel by Bob McNiel, Bessie McNiel by Kristine McNiel, Ben and Ella Hansen Strait by Dan and Teresa Scheeler.

After the presentations, many guests visited the Strait Log Cabin, moved to Depot Museum grounds last summer.

Up next from the Historical Society is Dr. Andersen day from 2-4 Sunday, Sept. 16.

The late Dr. Kenneth Andersen was Center Point’s family doctor for more than 50 years. He and his wife Marilyn were also the donors who got the new expanded Center Point public library building and community room over the funding hump.

The free program will be presented by their son Dr. Philip Andersen, CP dentist and Historical Society president, and by assorted other Dr. Andersens and family members.
