The Dysart Trails Team has started the second phase of the Old Creamery Nature Trail – Dysart Trailhead fundraiser to add a handicap water fountain, bike fix it station and three exercise stations as well as cement pads to the trailhead. One of the fundraisers will be the Dysart Twin Trails Celebration which will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018. The day will start with a poker ride from Dysart to Vinton and back, starting at Bottoms Up in Dysart at 9 a.m. There will be poker shopping in Dysart from 10 til 3. Prizes will be awarded at the Norma Anders Library at 3 p.m. for these events. More information call Robert Elliott 319 476-3083

       A bike parade will start at Clark St. at 3 p.m. for all ages, going north on Main St., with a nature scavenger hunt, east on the C.R. Roberts Trail to the shelter house. Bicycle safety will be emphasized and as well as things in nature to see, hear, feel and smell on the trail.  Prizes awarded for the best decorated bike or walking entry. The bike ride will return to Main St. for the street dance.

      A “chalk the walk” Dys’ART’ contest will be held with fun and prizes for all age categories. Registration starts at 4 – judging at 6.

      Food, beverages, bake sale, and silent auction will be held throughout the evening til 7:30. If you haven’t had you picture taken at the “Great Dysart Gorge”, anamorphic illusion this would be an ideal opportunity and a second artwork – a checkerboard optical illusion should be completed on the bike trail also. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy an evening with friends and neighbors.
