Hold on to your sombreros folks because Party in the Park is nearly here! This year’s theme is “Fiesta Fest!” and we’ve definitely got a lot of hot and spicy things cooking up for our community festival this year. The dates will be June 22nd through June 24th and the three days of FREE entertainment is sure to bring your family the whole enchilada of fun, excitement and smiles!

Thursday, June 22nd is all about los ninos at the always well-attended KIDS NIGHT. Farmers Savings Bank & Trust will start off the festival with their ‘Community Picnic’ at 5 PM followed by the Kids Parade at 6:30 PM. Show your fiesta colors in the parade! At the end of the parade, not only will your children get some cool swag to complete their fiesta outfit, but we’ll have FREE games, prizes and inflatables! StraitRun will be performing two sets of great music and the Vinton Off-Road Cyclists will be featuring a skills development course for you and your bike! Decorate that bike up for the parade and bring it on out!

On Friday, June 23rd, we head up to Riverside Park for an evening of fun with the life-sized table top games (including Human Foosball) along with other rides, prizes, delicious food booths and entertainment! The Party in Pink 5K will begin at 6 PM and then our headlining performance for the evening will be from Zachary Freedom, bringing to you acoustic-driven, pop-infused tunes. His set will begin at 7 PM and will go until our first of two nights of fireworks gets underway! As always, Chuck Yedlik and the Bar Y Pyros will give you a show that will have you exclaiming, “Holy Guacamole!”

Mucho grande everything is key as Party in the Park really kicks in to high gear on Saturday, June 24th. We’ll have lots of sports tournaments, afternoon entertainment at the Riverside Park bandshell stage, Bingo, inflatables, the FFA petting zoo, RU Racing and so much more! The evening will begin with the annual parade (this year starting from the Tilford Parking Lot!) that will continue through the downtown area. Keep in mind the “Fiesta Fest” when putting together your float and parade entries. There is no cost to participate, just show up to Tilford at 4:30 PM.

The parade route is slightly different from the past route. The route will begin at Tilford Elementary School and will go west on 13th Street to 2nd Ave. North on 2nd Ave and then west on 6th Street. West on 6th Street to B Avenue, North on B Avenue to 4th Street and then East on 4th Street to where it will begin dispersing after the 2nd Avenue intersection. Vinton Kiwanis Club will be assisting at intersections.

The evening entertainment will start off with another great performance by the Vinton Community Band. Following will be the festival’s headlining performance from “28 Days.” One of Chicago’s premier party cover bands will be getting the dance party started with a festive mix of the hits you grew up with to the hot chart toppers of today! This is definitely a performance that you won’t want to miss that will be exciting for all ages to watch. Then we will once again be treated to a fabulous firework show to end the 26th annual Party in the Park.

Vinton’s Party in the Park is our community’s FREE annual celebration made possible by generous donations from many sponsors and private donors. We’d particularly like to thank Bar Y Pyros, Vinton Unlimited and the John Anderson family for being this year’s premier sponsors…we couldn’t do this without their assistance!
