At its first meeting of the year last week Friends of the Center Point Library made plans for a continued series of Master Gardener programs.

Monday, Feb. 19, at 6:30 at the Library, Master Gardener Rose Milden will do a presentation on “Water in the Garden.” The program is free and will include water feature inspiration, from birdbaths to ponds, for any garden.

The third Monday in March Friends will sponsor a Master Gardener program on beginning vegetable gardening and the third Monday in April the program will be about garden whimsy and humor.

June 23 Friends is planning its second Center Point Garden Walk fund-raiser. Back bigger and better than ever will be the gardens of Karen and Craig Batcheler and of Dennis and Linda Schlict which were featured in the 2016 Garden Walk. A tour of the Library’s own landscaping will be included in the new gardens for this year.

In other business, Friends made plans to help with Library programming for school age kids and to partner again with the Center Point Historical Society on the annual community Harvest Potluck.
