The 2018 Benton County Fair will begin nearly a month earlier than it has typically taken place.

The Benton County Extension Office has announced that the 2018 Fair will begin on Wednesday, June 27. Static judging day will be June 26. Livestock check-in will be Wednesday, June 27. The Fair will end Sunday, July 1.

The Extension Office says that the Benton County Fair Board sets the Fair dates. The availability of the midway that provides rides and games is a factor in scheduling. Last year, the Fair opened a week earlier than its typical third week in July date.

See the Benton County 4-H Facebook page, where the dates were announced yesterday, HERE.

Some Fair parents say the earlier date will pose a scheduling conflict; others say starting a few weeks earlier will be better for those entering the horticulture open shows.

The annual Vinton Party in the Park celebration will take place the weekend before the Fair, from June 21-23.
