Emily Sadler and Michelle Oldfather raced through Fareway to fill their cart with $150 worth of items for the 4th Street Diner on Saturday.

Several teams raced through Fareway, shopping for items for the 4th Street Diner on Saturday morning.

The event, organized by Dawn Pettengill, brought in a total of $2,709 to help the Diner provide meals to area seniors.
The winning team from Cedar Valley Bank, Michelle Oldfather and Emily Sadler, filled their cart with a total of $149.50 worth of items; the target was $150.

“Realizing how much was raised made me teary eyed,” said Linda Lough of the 4th Street Diner. “What a great fundraiser! Thanks to all.”

Fill The Plate

The 5th annual Fill-The-Plate telethon is set for 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on KCRG.

This telethon is to help supplement federal funding for Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining sites across a seven county area. Pettengill has already begun organizing volunteers and donors for this event. See the event’s Facebook page HERE.
