Four Vinton-Shellsburg students are leaving today for London, where they will have the unique opportunity to sing American patriotic music in the Capital of England on the 4th of July.
Singers Kailey Lazenby, Dalton Hill and Davia Herger and bassoon player Lexi Diveley have spent the past three days with other Iowa Ambassadors of Music at Grinnell College, rehearsing a variety of music which they will perform in london on July 4 and the Dachau Concentration Camp on July 16. The tour will also include events in France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy.
“When I first got the invitation in the mail, I was kind of confused and not really sure what it was,” says Kailey. “Once I realized what it was I was really excited. Especially once I found out that I was going to get to go on the trip for sure. I’m really excited to have this opportunity to go to some of the places I’ve always wanted to see like Paris; and to perform choir concerts in different countries. I am a little nervous about the trip but can’t wait to go.”
