The House of Refuge is available for women coming from incarceration, drug/alcohol rehabilitation, or those needing a fresh start.

Victoria and Loel Fink opened the house in the fall of 2017; currently there is one vacancy. The ministry can house up to four women at a time, says Victoria Fink.

“The first resident came Oct.31, 2017, Most of the women come from our region, but are not from Vinton,” she says.
Loel and Victoria Fink co-founded Iowa Abundant Life Ministries, Inc., after leaving the pastoral ministry in 2012.  For more information about how to help the ministry, or receive assistance, contact Victoria at 319-640-5896 or email:

About House of Refuge:
Women serious about transitioning from their old way of life is key.
The House of Refuge offers a new beginning based on Biblical principles and a relationship with Jesus Christ. Caring and trusted volunteers nurture each
woman, while hope in a loving God may be developed.
This program helps women in need, up to 6 months. At the end of their stay the women are assisted in finding their own apartment, at which time they
may select needed furniture and household items donated by community members.
