On Wednesday, June 20, 2018, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office began a theft investigation related to a reported stolen cell phone belonging to Katrina Webber, 20 years old. During the course of the theft investigation, it was determined that Webber had been corresponding with a Kohlman Klinge, 24 years old, via online social media sites.
The investigation determined that arrangements were made between Webber and Klinge to meet and exchange money for sexual conduct.
Arrested were Kohlman Klinge, 24, of Cedar Rapids, and Katrina Webber, 20, of Vinton. Both individuals were charged with one count of prostitution, an aggravated misdemeanor under Iowa Code Section 725.1.
Klinge was also charged with Theft in the Third Degree, an aggravated misdemeanor under Iowa Code Section(s) 714.1 and 714.2. The punishment for an aggravated misdemeanor in the State of Iowa is a fine between $625 and $6,250, and/or up to two years of incarceration.
The incident remains under investigation by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
An arrest charge or referral for a criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
