One of my all time favorite things to do, is to honor our veterans.

The last several years, Vinton Today has invited our readers to submit names and photos of their veterans if they would like to honor them in this edition.

We know there are many more out there. Sometimes the veteran may not want to be recognized in this way, and that’s okay, I understand that completely.

But for the ones that said, “Sure, include my name and picture!” or the families that said, “Hey put my relative in!” we’re thrilled to do it!

These men and women, listed or not, are the backbone of our country.

These are the ones that have sacrificed their lives and put their family on pins and needles while they deployed. Most came back home after their time was done, some weren’t as fortunate.

To all of you, and your families, we’d like to take this little way to say a huge, Thank You.

As always, if you’d like us to include your Veteran for our next year’s recognition, simply comment below, send us an email at VintonToday@hotmail,com or drop us a note on Facebook and we’ll happily add them to the list.

Ladies and Gentlemen that have served this great country, all of us thank you. May God bless each and every one of you!
