Vinton:     Hazel L. Eastwood, 84, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at her home following a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM Friday, January 12, 2018 at Phillips Family Center, 605 2nd Ave. in Vinton with Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating.  Visitation will also be held at the Family Center from 5-7 Thursday.  Interment will be held at Salem Cemetery near Van Horne.

Hazel was born April 10, 1933 at Ladora, IA to Ernest and Martha (Hoover) Seeman.

On August 30, 1968 she was united in marriage to James LeRoy Eastwood, Sr. at Rock Island, IL.  Jim preceded Hazel in death in 2011.

Hazel worked at Fannie Farmer and later as an assembler at Dearborn Brass in Cedar Rapids.  In later years she was a loving caregiver to her husband Jim.

Hazel was an active member of Mt. Auburn American Legion Auxiliary.  She volunteered for HAACAP for many years, and enjoyed card clubs and crafts.  She was also an active member at the Vinton Presbyterian Church.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grand kids.

Hazel is survived by her son, James L. (Mandy) Eastwood, Jr. of Vinton; her daughter, Dixie (Wayne) Davis of Fayette: 6 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter: and her sister, Bea Payton of Vinton.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
