VINTON:  Jacquelyn Sue Zobac, 68 of Vinton died Friday, November 3,2017 at Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a long battle with lung cancer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth Street in Vinton with Tammy Buseman officiating and will conclude with the family greeting friends until 7 PM.   A Memorial Fund has been established.

Jacquelyn was born September 8, 1949 in Cedar Rapids to Charles and Carolyn (Uhlenberg) Brandon. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School with the class of 1967 and received her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science and Medical Coding from Kirkwood College in 2005.

On May 2, 1981 Jacquelyn was united in marriage to Mark Zobac in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a Patient Advocate with Mercy’s Hall Perrine Cancer Center for ten years. She earlier worked as a clerk at Ehlinger’s in Vinton. In 2007 Jacquelyn was ordained as a minister from Liberty University and established Rose Ministry. She enjoyed spending time on the family farm pond, Women Lake in Minnesota, and all her animals. She was a member of AA, started a Bible study and prayer for patients at Mercy Medical Center. She adored her six grandchildren.

She survived by her husband Mark of Vinton; James(Chrystina) Zobac of Strawberry Point and Christopher (Krystal) Goodrow of Center Point; her six grandchildren, Jenna Michelle, Rylee Jacqueline, Christian Marcus, Dawson Randy Zobac and Jack Christopher and Aubrey Faye Goodrow.

Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Craig and sister Jeanne Anne Brandon and her golden lab Thor.
