The Annual Fields of Faith event will take place at hundreds of schools nationwide, including locally at Union Football Field, on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
“We are excited to say we will have three impact stories from two UNI gals who  are swimmers and  a call to action with a former arena football player, Mick Rodemeyer at he end,” says organizer and Union coach Joe Hadachek. Also, several students have signed up to share a favorite Bible verse, or offer a testimony about their life and the challenges faith has helped them overcome.
Many area school districts bring busloads of students; several Vinton-Shellsburg students have been attending the event regularly for the past few years.
Calling Fields of Faith “an amazing night of change for many, Hadachek and other organizers invite everyone, especially youngsters, to attend.  Those who come are also invited to “bring a blanket and bring a friend.”  There will be food site for $5, offered by the Union Jr-Sr Prom Committee right up to 7 p.m.  Attendees are also asked to bring one non-perishable food item to donate to the NE Iowa Food Bank for those less fortunate.
