Four IMCA divisions are on the card for Benton County Speedway’s season-opening Frostbuster special Thursday, April 12.
The IMCA Modified feature pays $1,000 to win and is a qualifying event for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks also run at Vinton for $500, $400 and $250 to win, respectively. Mini mods complete the program.
Pit gates open at 5 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. with racing to follow.
Frostbuster Week, originally scheduled for April 4-7 but postponed because of weather, opens April 11 at Lee County Speedway in Donnellson. Marshalltown Speedway hosts the April 13 show and the finale is April 14 at Boone Speedway.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State points will be awarded at all four shows.
One thousand dollar point funds will be paid to top five drivers in each division and champions become eligible to qualify for their race of champions events during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone in September.
