Union Football Coach Joe Hadachek is among 15 finalists for the Most Valuable High School Football Coach in the U.S., in a contest sponsored by U.S. Cellular.
After receiving hundreds of nominations, the company chose 50 finalists. Hadachek was one of the top 15, determined by voters throughout the country. He will receive special recognition during a 2:45 p.m. ceremony in the Union gym today.
“Coach Hadachek has set a legacy in this school by pushing his athletes and community to continually thrive as champions. Joe Hadachek is an all-around great person, as well as a coach” is how nominators described Hadachek. “He inspires, drives and encourages our community to come together and be the best. He goes above and beyond just being a coach. He takes these young athletes and turns them into honest, hardworking, caring young men, and I believe these are his priorities.”
The company will also present the school a check for $1,000. A video tribute is also in progress; camera crews are at Union today to help tell the coach’s story.
The two winning coaches will be determined by a second vote from Oct. 20 to Nov. 18 and will be announced as a U.S. Cellular Most Valuable Coach on Nov. 21. The winning coaches and their guests will receive a trip to Orlando, Florida, and be recognized live on the Citrus Bowl’s field during the nationally-televised Under Armour High School All-America Game on ESPN.
Union fans can vote for Coach Hadachek once per day through Nov. 18.
