Union came out on the first play of the game with a 86 yd kickoff return for TD by spark plug senior captain Britton Rolison.   Then the special teams put on the play of the night with a fake punt on a 4th and 16 for a 58 yard TD run by senior captain Bryce Parker.

Union won, 22-15.

The series between NFV and Union has always been a physical match.   This year was no different.

A game marred by penalties on both teams became a battle of defenses.   Union’s defense rose to the occasion in the fourth quarter and turned away three fourth-down tries by NFV.   Meanwhile, the Union offense went three for three in fourth down conversions on the night.

Parker also dominated stats on defense with 9 tackles including three for loss.   Senior Ben Behrens and senior Kyle Gross each had 8.5 tackles while senior Levi Gray had seven.
On offense senior quarterback Dylan Felderman was 11 of 19 for 91 yards.    Silver Schmitz had four receptions,
while Parker and Rolison each had three.
The Knights return home this Friday to compete against one of the three 3A opponents that dropped down a class
from 3A to 2A, Charles City.
The Knights are currently 2-0.
