La Porte City Specialty Care, a member of Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA), has received the Governor's Award for Quality Care in Health Care Facilities for 2023. This award recognizes Iowa health care facilities that offer unique or innovative activities to enhance the quality of care or quality of life for their residents. Facilities are nominated for the award by residents and family members."Receiving this award is a remarkable achievement that celebrates the committed professionals who have dedicated their careers to serving others," said Brent Willett, IHCA president and CEO. "Congratulations to La Porte City Specialty Care on providing outstanding care and enhancing the quality of life for its residents."All health care facilities licensed under Iowa Code Chapter 135C, which include nursing facilities, residential care facilities and intermediate care facilities, including those facilities specializing in the care of persons with mental illness or intellectual disabilities, are eligible to be nominated for this award.
