The final paperwork has been submitted for the open Benton County offices in 2024. The deadline to file was 5:00 p.m on Friday, March 22, 2024.

If you are a registered Democrat or Independent but would like to vote for one of these candidates in the primary, you will need to change parties to Republican in order to vote. After the primary, you can change back. Here is the link to do this.

Primary Candidates who have filed for these offices are as follows.


Benton County Supervisor in District 1

This office is currently being held by Supervisor Rick Primmer. Primmer will not be running for re-election.

There are three candidates who have filed to fill the seat. The three are Kellie Van Ree, Lance Lillibridge, and Ron Tippett. All of Vinton and the three are filing under the Republican Party.


Benton County Supervisor in District 3


Incumbent Gary Bierschenk has filed to run again and is being challenged by Bruce Volz of Norway, also running as a Republican.


Benton County Sheriff

Two candidates are throwing their hat in the ring for this office. Both filed as Republicans. Both Vinton Police Chief, Ted Paxton and Deputy David Upah of Atkins are running for this position.


Benton County Auditor

Running unopposed for re-election is Benton County Auditor, Hayley Rippel, of Vinton and also on the Republican ticket.

KVR March 27, 2024, 9:08 pm Thanks for posting the information on how to change your affiliation. It is important that voters show up on June 4 as the winner of the primary election is the only one to move onto the November election. If you want to see a change you have to vote in June!
