Joel A. Jeffries

Joel A. Jeffries, 68, of Chicago, IL passed away on Dec 28, 2023 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Joel was born on Feb 12, 1955 to Jack and Ruth Jeffries in Carroll, IA. They relocated in Vinton and Joel graduated from the Iowa Braille and Sight Saving School in 1973. He then attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids graduating in 1977. He went on to get his law degree from the University of Iowa graduating in 1982.

He married Colleen Anderson in 1982.

Joel is survived by his son, Paul (Marilynn), grandson Jake, sister, Kala (Kent) Hill, brother, Lyle (Karla), and brother-in-law Jeff (Faye) Gillispie.

Joel was preceded in death by his parents, Colleen (2022), sister Faye (2021), and brother-in-law Kent (2013).

God has called home a good and faithful servant.

A Memorial service will be held on Jan 27 at 11:00 at Montrose Baptist Church, 4411 Melvina Ave, Chicago, IL.
